Detailed 3 Days Gorilla Trekking in Congo

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali-Rwanda to Bukima-DR Congo

Early morning, you will have a pick up from your guide; he will brief you concerning the safari. You could have a visit to the Genocide memorial site where you will find out a lot that transpired during the 1994 genocide.

Have an early lunch and transfer you to Goma in Congo which is a 4 hours drive and add other 2 hours to connect to Bukima in DR Congo. You will arrive in the evening, dinner and overnight. (Meal Plan on F/B)

Accommodation: Mikeno lodge (Up market), Bukima tented camp (Mid range), Ihusi Hotel-Goma (Budget).

Day 2: Gorilla trekking -Virunga National Park

Have a morning delicious breakfast, after drive to the park head offices for briefing, where you will told all the rules concerning gorilla trekking. Start off with trekking through the jungle; you are allowed only 1 hour when you meet with the gentle giants.

Also all trekkers are advised to carry enough water, non flash cameras, sturdy trekking shoes, hats, and long sleeved trousers. After return to the lodge, relax in the evening, dinner and overnight. (Meal Plan on F/B)

Day 3: Return to Rwanda – Kigali – Kanombe airport – depart

Have breakfast from the lodge and return back to Kigali to your hotel/lodge, lunch on the way and if you have your flight in the evening; you will be transferred to the airport as we you bid farewell to Rwanda’ the Land of a thousand hills. (Meal Plan on B/L)

If staying in Kigali, please request assistance at the time of booking this safari to allow us ample time to make arrangements. If departing Kigali the same night, please note’ by use of road’ returns to Kigali are always mid afternoon (approximately 16h00), please DO NOT book flights departing prior to 20h00 or 22h00 respectively in order to allow time for security, check in and if any delays due to weather.
