Day 2: Entebbe – The Source of the river Nile – Overnight Jinja

After breakfast drive to Jinja via Kampala for a city tour highlight, depending on your interests in Kampala, we will have lunch and later take off to Jinja via Mabira/Ssezibwa/tea and sugar cane plantation we will be in Jinja in time to explorer the source of the Nile the world’s longest river NILE, keeping time in mind we will head to the lodge for check in, dinner and overnight. Day 3 of the 20 Days Uganda at a Glance & Primate Safari: Jinja – half day dedicated to – (optional activities) – transfer to Sipi – overnight

 An early morning breakfast, depending on your interest of the day (Options-White water Rafting/Bungee Jumping/Kayaking/floating boat cruise at the Nile, will proceed to the points from where we will start off with our exciting days activities, we will have lunch at leisure, as we start off with our journey extension to Sipi Fall, from where we will have our next dinner and overnight. Day 4: Sipi Falls visit – Pian Upe game reserve – evening game drive

After an early breakfast, we go for a nature walk to the Sipi Falls, four a spectacular waterfalls on River Sipi, which originates from Mount Elgon.

Starting point is from Rafic parking for an organized community walk with a local guide who will make us able to reach to the caves the base of the falls; also we will an opportunity to experience farming of coffee, this region of the country is among the best coffee producer in Africa, we will return in time enough to pick our parked lunch to head to the newest eastern game reserve of Pian Upe.

We will reach in time to check in at the Uganda Wildlife Bandas/for nature lover you can take this opportunity to camp in nature dinner and overnight. (Meal Plan on F/B)

Day 5: Pian Upe – Morning game drive – nature walk – transfer to Moroto – an experience to Culture

After breakfast, leave for an extensive game drive, wildlife rear species are seen here, ostrich, different species of antelopes Zebras, Eland, Oribi, including Elephants, Lions, and a variety of bird species.

We will return for lunch, relax and in the early afternoon  we will go for a nature walk to give a close attachment with nature, return in time to go to Moroto for another life about this remote communities/entertainment,  dinner and overnight. (Meal plan on F/B)

Day 6 of the 20 Days Uganda at a Glance & Primate Safari: Moroto  – Kotido – Kabongo – to Kidepo valley NP – evening game drive

After an early morning breakfast, we will embark on our drive to the further North East of Uganda Kidepo, we will cross traditional villages of Kotido, with close views to the Moroto mountain ranges, cross the sand beds of the dry rivers of Kidepo down to Kabongo, a stopovers for lunch and community interactions creates beautiful safari memories, we will access Kidepo via the gate of karenga, head to the national park center for accommodation and overnight (Meal plan on F/B)

Day 7: Kidepo Valley NP – Game drive – Nature walk – Community experience

After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on a morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring where a variety of animals and birds can be seen roving around like the fast running Ostrich. You will continue with the game drive that will take you through the Narus Valley to see herds of Buffalos, Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Lions, and if lucky the leopard and the elusive cheetah, several stops will be made to allow for pictures of fabulous wildlife and birds, return for lunch, in the evening you will go for a cultural tour in the Karamajong community, a wonderful evening with Karamojong people gives an insight of their way of life and beliefs. At the end of the tour you will be able to understand why their pride makes them slow to adapt to globalization. (Meal plan on F/B)

Day 8: Kidepo Valley NP – Gulu lunch – short stop – Murchison Falls NP – evening game drive

After breakfast proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, with 3,840 Km. which is named after the falls on the Victoria Nile, our drive will be so breath taking as we break through the local village setting of Kitgum, Kulu and the far north, lunch will be in Gulu town thereafter proceed to the park through Wankwar gate dinner and overnight. Day 9: Murchison Falls NP – Game drive – boat cruise – hike to the Top of Falls

After a cup of tea, embark on an early morning game drive/ bird watching, in the park. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Relax at the poolside.

After lunch, you will enjoy a boat trip to the bottom of the falls, some meters before the “Devil’s Cauldron.” then take a hike to the top of the falls where you’ll be picked. The birdlife, hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife make this trip awesome.

You are likely to see among others, goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, kingfishers, Hornbills, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and overnight at a community lodge. (Meal plan on Full Board)

Day 10 of the 20 Days Uganda at a Glance & Primate Safari: Murchison – via Hoima – Zziwa Rhinos/Shoebill game walk – Hoima/culture & Overnight

 After breakfast drive from Murchison Falls National Park through Bugungu wildlife reserve on Masindi to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for the Rhino and shoebill game walk/canoeing, after this exiting beautiful day we will have lunch, drive to Hoima for a cultural experience, dinner and overnight. Day 11: Hoima – via Fort Portal – Semuliki Valley National Park – community experience

Drive to Semliki and head to Bundibugyo, enjoy this spectacular drive with views of Lake Albert and the legendary Mountain Rwenzori ranges.

This park is situated in Bundibugyo district along the western border of Uganda with the Democratic Republic of Congo near Lake Albert.

The park has a great location within western Albertine Rift valley region and occupies the eastern section of Ituri forest connecting Uganda with Congo River separated by river Semliki.

Semliki is a site for ornithologists with approximately 400 species of bird mainly forest birds. Approximately 300 species of trees have been recorded here and more than 52 mammal species including 11 diurnal species. In the night you will have a spot-lit game drive.

The night, only one of this nature in the whole of Uganda and see the thin white tailed mongoose, very small night-jars plus several cats, dinner and overnight. (Meal Plan on Full Board)

Day 12: Semuliki – Game drive – Sempaya hot springs – walk – transfer to Kibale NP

Visit the highlight in Semliki, referred to as the Sempaya hot springs. These natural springs have a geyser shooting high from an 8 meter wide hole at a very high temperature. Of its kind, this is the largest in the whole of Uganda.

On this very trail, you may identify a couple of bird types such as the blue breasted kingfisher plus Frasier’s ant-thrush in addition to primates such as the grey checked manga-bey plus the red-tailed monkey.

Proceed to Mungilo waterfall to see some other fascinating birds; particularly ideal for birders. In the Late afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Albert, a wonderful lake.

See the various water animals and later drive to Kibale National Park via Fort Portal for dinner and overnight. (Meal Plan on Full Board)

Day 13 of the 20 Days Uganda at a Glance & Primate Safari: Kibale NP – Chimpanzee trekking – Queen Elizabeth NP – evening game drive

 Today head to Kibale another favorite tourist destination. Enjoy the beautiful drive southwest through Fort Portal where you will have a lunch break.

See the Toro Kingdom palace, the eating places, Royal tombs, the mosque and several shops however drive on to Kibale, only a couple of kilometers ahead.

This national park has the biggest number of primates in the whole of East Africa such as chimpanzees, black & white Colobus monkeys, the blue monkeys plus baboons.

After lunch,  we will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the takes us along the foothills of this Africa’s largest block Mountains of the Moon “Rwenzori Mountain Ranges” we will arrive at the lodge in time for dinner and an overnight at Kazinga Wilderness Safari Camp

This lodge is along the edge of both the community enclave in the National Park, this gives it an all round time viewing of animals (www.kazingawildcamp.com)

Day 14:  Queen Elizabeth NP – Game drive – Boat Cruise & Community experience

An early morning breakfast, set off for a game-drive, your guide will search and point out wild animals as he leads you to the various habitats of game, return for Lunch at the Lodge and later in the afternoon take a boat-ride on Kazinga Channel to see birds, semi- and aquatic animals that rely on the channel for their livelihood, (optional 3 hour night guided game drive depending on your strength and interest), stay or return at the lodge for your overnight.

Day 15: Northern Sector of Queen Elizabath NP – Ishasha Southern Sector (So remote)

After our Breakfast, We will drive off in the adventurous vast savannah of the Ishasha Southern area of Queen Elizabeth NP with Topis, the southern version of Elephants and hopefully with the lions high in the Fig tree branches.

This is one of two areas in Africa where lions have the habit of regularly climbing trees to take a rest, we will check in our lodge, have lunch and thereafter, we will go for an evening game drive in the lushes of this flat savannah grassland. Day 16 of the 20 Days Uganda at a Glance & Primate Safari: Ishasha – morning game drive – drive out to – Bwindi Impenetrable NP – Free evening

 After breakfast transfer Ishasha, we do a drive through game drive on a search for the rare tree climbing lions which you can see only in this area of Uganda/this will also give us an opportunity to explore other animal species and its flora, the landscape is an open savannah with a variety of acacia trees and figs that are more favorable to allow a conformable climbing of the lions.

Day 17: Encounter with mountains gorillas – Gorilla Trekking – Community experience

After breakfast, you will go for an early morning briefing for gorilla trekking. The rainforest is spectacular as it offers a dramatic, heavily forested and densely endowed with wild life plus a hike challenging landscape for tourists.

This park is best known for the fascinating mountain gorillas, where the time taken and terrain varies according to the movements of these marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time with and observing the gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure.

The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact with each other, dinner and overnight at Bwindi.

Day 18: Mugahinga – Golden Monkeys experience/Batwa visit (Optional) – Lake Bunyonyi – Free evening

Enjoy early breakfast and then drive to Mgahinga Gorilla NP where you will have a chance to visit the Golden monkeys and the Batwa and learn about their lifestyles in the forest.

Along the trail you will also visit the Garama caves and receive various explanations and performances regarding their life before and after being expelled from their native habitat, now known as forest reserves or national parks (Mgahinga Gorilla NP, Volcanoes NP, Virunga NP and Bwindi NP plus numerous forest reserves within the region).

You will enjoy lunch at Kisoro Travelers Rest Hotel, famously known for hosting primatologist Dian Fossey during her days when she researched on the Mountain gorillas within the Virunga massive, thereafter; we will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a free evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 19 of the 20 Days Uganda at a Glance & Primate Safari: Morning at leisure – visit the orphanage home – Lake Mburo National Park – Evening game drive

Morning at leisure, breakfast, visit the grace villa orphanage in Kabale town, later will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest in Uganda in size.

Lunch in Mbarara at Lake View Regency Hotel, afternoon game drive in search of the beautiful impalas, zebras, cape buffalos, elands, Oribi and topi, many visitors also enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo.

The park is a very good opportunity for bird watchers, who will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found here, including Papyrus gonolek, Brown-faced lapwings, Carruther’s Cisticola, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird.
