8 Days Best of Tanzania Wildlife Safari: details

Day 1: Arrive in Arusha – Meet greet & briefing – transfer to – Lake Manyara National Park O/nt.  

An early arrival/meet greet/ and depart Arusha for Lake Manyara National Park which is set between the Rift Valley’s western escarpment and the shallow alkaline waters of Lake Manyara.

Enjoy a full day game drive in the park with our picnic lunch. Lake Manyara is best known for its flamingos, pelicans and cormorants and is home to over 400 other species of birds, making it a bird watcher’s paradise.

Mammals in the park include wildebeests, zebras, bushbucks, waterbucks, tiny Kirk’s dik-diks, hippos, giraffes, leopards, lions, baboons and troops of noisy blue monkeys. We will return in the evening to the camp for our dinner and overnight.

Day 2 of the 8 Days Best of Tanzania Wildlife Safari: Early start – game – transfer to Lake Natron National Park / Mount OL Doinyo Lengai – game & O/nt camp 

Sun rise wake up, breakfast and depart Lake Manyara and make your way to Mount OL Doinyo Lengai located to the south of Lake Natron. OL Doinyo Lengai means “The Mountain of God” in the Maasai language.

OL Doinyo Lengai is an active volcano with immense ecological, geological and cultural value and is part of the larger volcanic system of the East African Rift Valley.

After lunch enjoy afternoon nature walk to the shores of Lake Natron to view flamingo and other water birds to be found here.

Lake Natron Camp located on the southern end of the lake on an old volcanic lava flow boosts of a unique location of the camp’s superb panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley in all directions.

The camp comprises of six tents all named after the surrounding mountains that lie parallel to the fresh water streams flowing into Lake Natron. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Early start – game, breakfast – transfer to Serengeti National Park – evening game & O/nt tented camp

An early start with a visit to Lake Natron, Ol Donyo Lengai and the surrounding region mainly focus on remoteness, the unique scenery, beautiful landscapes, spectacular escarpments and volcanic mountains Lake Natron is a soda lake and is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world.

The lake is a haven for thousands of lesser flamingo and is one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth. The lake is also famous for very interesting nature walks.

Walk out across the baked mud to the shores of the great soda lake itself to view hot water springs and thousands of flamingo followed with a drive to the Ngare Sero Gorge and walk to the waterfalls along the Ngare Sero River.

Participate in a mountain trek or a visit to an authentic Maasai homestead. We will retire in the evening for dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 4 of the 8 Days Best of Tanzania Wildlife Safari: Early morning start/game – full day activities in Serengeti National Park – O/nt at the Camp 

Breakfast and depart for Serengeti National Park arriving in time for lunch. Thereafter enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti which is scenically located along one of the main annual migration corridors for thousands of wildebeest, zebras and other gazelles in the company is a cast of predators.

It is a place of infinite calm and offers timeless blend of classical safari rusticity and beautiful accommodation. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 5: Early start Serengeti/game – Full day activities in Serengeti National Park – O/nt at the camp

A Sun rise start with breakfast and a game drive in the Serengeti national park, an internationally renowned for incredible wildlife spectacle.

Located in Northwest of Tanzania, the Serengeti is the ultimate “wildlife show” on earth and is best known for its unequaled natural beauty and diverse animal population, as such, it offers the most complex and least disturbed ecosystem on earth.

Serengeti’s unique combination of diverse habitats enables it to support more than thirty species of large herbivores and nearly 500 species of birds.

The landscape varies from open grass lands in the south, savanna with scattered acacia trees in the center, wooded grasslands in the north to extensive woodland and black clay plains in the west. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 6 of the 8 Days Best of Tanzania Wildlife Safari: Early morning start/game – transfer to – Ngorongoro crater – evening game O/nt at the camp

An early morning game drive, breakfast and depart for the Ngorongoro Crater. On the way you will make a brief visit of OL Dupai Gorge (originally misnamed Olduvai), which is the most famous archaeological location in East Africa.

It is here that the remains of the earliest human beings were found, making Africa the “Cradle of Mankind.” We will proceed on with our journey arriving at our camp in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Early morning start/game – full day activities in Tarangire National Park – O/nt at the Camp 

Early wake up for breakfast and then drive down to the floor of the crater for whole day Ngorongoro Crater safari with picnic lunch.

Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World and hosts one of the most unique ecosystems on earth with over 20,000 large grazing mammals and the largest concentration of predators calling it home.

Thereafter depart for Tarangire National Park arriving late afternoon at Lake Burunge Tented Lodge which is located in a shaded grove overlooking the picturesque seasonal Lake Burunge in an area of dense bush known for its populations of dry country antelope such as lesser kudu and gerenuk.

Accommodation is in spacious and attractively rustic en-suite tents built on stilted platforms and shaded by Makuti roofs.

Day 8 of the 8 Days Best of Tanzania Wildlife Safari: Breakfast, game en-route to Arusha, depending on your time of departure, you will have a city

Highlights – Drop off to the Airport for departure on time.

At Sun rise, breakfast and set off for a whole morning game drive to view great variety of wildlife found in Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire is the fourth largest National Park in Tanzania and its very diverse habitats make it a delight to explore.

Magnificent 1000-year-old giant baobab trees punctuate the park and great herds of elephant and other game seasonally swell the already large number of wildlife.

After lunch drive back to Arusha. You will be dropped in Arusha town or at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

If staying in Arusha, please request assistance at the time of booking this safari to allow us ample time to make arrangements.

If departing Arusha the same night, please note’ both by use of charter flight or by road’ returns to Arusha are always late morning (approximately 11h.00/12h00-by charter flight) or (approximately 16h00-road).
