An amazing a 1000 hills Gorilla Trekking Experience – in Rwanda starts and ends in Kigali, with an impressive city tour. The Rwanda safari includes one permit of $1500 per person in the final price.

Tracking the mountain gorillas will take place in the Volcanoes National Park which has a total of over 350 of the remaining world’s population of Mountain Gorillas; this Rwanda safari gives you an opportunity to track the mountain gorillas as well as the Golden monkeys within the same park.

The park has 10 habituated gorilla families which can be visited on a daily basis by interested visitors. The tour also includes a visit to Kigali city where you can visit the genocide memorial site that was put in place to commemorate the 1994 genocide which took place in Rwanda, National Museum with lots of the countries historical items an inheritance from its colonial masters’ the Belgium government.

Detailed 4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Experience

Day 1: Pick up from Airport- meet greet formalities – transfer to – Volcanoes National Park

When you arrive at Kigali Airport, you will be picked up by your driver guide who will drive you to Kigali which is Rwanda’s capital. After your lunch in the city you will set out for a city tour; this city has well developed markets, amazing history which is to do with the 1994 genocide-you will be able to visit the genocide memorial site, also have a visit in art galleries.

Later embark on your journey to Volcanoes National Park which is located approximately 80 km from Kigali. Arrive at the park and check in at the lodge of your choice, Have dinner and overnight. (Meal Plan on F/B)

Day 2: Gorilla tracking-Volcanoes national park

Enjoy a hefty breakfast in the morning; after be picked up by your guide that will take you to the headquarters of the park, where you will be briefed about the rules and regulations concerning gorilla trekking in the park.

This activity is really thrilling as you will have amazing views of the Virunga’s, and when you meet the gentle giants you will watch them play, feed, among other things, which is an unforgettable experience.

On top of watching the gorillas you will be able to see other animals like elephants, monkeys, buffaloes as well as various species of birds. Later after trekking head back to the lodge for a late lunch. Throughout the evening, you can take a walk in the community or choose to stay and unwind at the lodge.

Only 1 hour is permitted to you to view the Gorillas. Trekking takes about 1 hour to 8 hours basing on the location of these gentle giants. After the trek, in the evening you could go for a guided nature walk or a community visit, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Gorilla tracking fee USD $1,500.00 Net,

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking or (optional Dian Fossey tomb visit)

Have breakfast early enough and after carry on guided by the park ranger to track the golden monkeys, these animals are very interesting to watch while they play, move around trees and feed.

Another alternative could be visiting the Dian Fossey tomb, here you will find out a lot concerning this primatologist who once took care of mountain gorillas (please note that; optional activities are not included in the final costing). Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, visit a local school where you will interact with the locals.

Only 1 hour is permitted to you to view the Golden Monkeys. Trekking takes about 1 hour to 6 hours basing on the location of these relatives of primates.  We will return for lunch Golden Monkey fee USD $70.0 Net in Virunga National Park,

Day 4: Kigali city tour- Departure

After a heavy breakfast, check out of the park and transfer to Kigali airport. In the meantime you will go for a city tour and visit a few places like pottery projects, markets, handicraft shops, the national museum etc. Later have lunch still in the city and drive to the airport for your flight back home.

If staying in Kigali, please request assistance at the time of booking this safari to allow us ample time to make arrangements. If departing Kigali the same night, please note’ by use of road’ returns to Kigali – Kanombe airport  are always early afternoons (approximately 12h.00/13h00 please DO NOT book flights departing prior to 17h00 in order to allow time for security, check in and if any delays due to weather.
